The Defense Manpower Data Center, myAuth Team is being honored in Category 2: Delivering Excellence in Digital Services for transforming how members of the military community securely access Department of War services. By replacing the legacy DS Logon system with myAuth, a modern, cloud-based Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform, the team has created a seamless, secure single sign-on experience for more than 20 million service members, Veterans, family members, caregivers, and beneficiaries. Their work has modernized identity management, strengthened cybersecurity, and significantly improved the digital experience for millions of users.

The team delivered this enterprise-wide solution four months ahead of schedule while exceeding performance expectations. By leveraging existing identity accounts, they avoided an estimated $22 million in costs, with an additional $36 million in savings anticipated as more systems transition to the platform. Since its launch, myAuth has achieved rapid adoption with more than 2.6 million accounts created and maintained a 99% account creation success rate. The platform's phishing-resistant multifactor authentication aligns with federal Zero Trust and cybersecurity standards, providing users with a more secure and reliable way to access critical government services.

The impact of myAuth extends well beyond technology. By simplifying authentication, improving system reliability, and eliminating fragmented identity solutions, the team has reduced barriers to accessing benefits and services while strengthening the Department's cybersecurity posture. Their innovative, customer-focused approach has improved convenience for millions of users, reduced government costs, and established a modern digital identity platform that will support secure government services for years to come.
