Jason Smith is being honored for strengthening sexual assault prevention and response (SAPR) across the United States Marine Corps through innovative training, accessible resources, and prevention-focused leadership. His work equips Marines at every level, from NCOs and SNCOs to commanders, with the knowledge and tools needed to foster safe, respectful, and mission-ready environments. By integrating prevention principles into leadership development, Jason has helped reinforce the connection between ethical leadership, personnel well-being, and operational excellence.

Jason has modernized how critical SAPR information is delivered by developing centralized SharePoint platforms that give Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and SAPR Victim Advocates real-time access to training updates, standardized guidance, and victim-support resources. These tools improve consistency across the force and enable personnel to respond more quickly and effectively when support is needed. His strategic communications and policy guidance also help ensure leaders have clear expectations and accurate information for decision-making.

The impact extends to Marines, employees, policymakers, and the public. Jason's efforts strengthen prevention, improve access to victim-support resources, and contribute to a safer workplace culture while enhancing transparency and accountability. His coordination of timely information for Congress also supports informed policymaking around military readiness and personnel welfare. Through innovation, education, and leadership, Jason is helping build a more responsive Marine Corps while reinforcing public confidence in its commitment to dignity, respect, and accountability.
